Connor eyed Sam as he approached him. The guy looked more than a little tense. He spoke through gritted teeth and the anger in his voice was barely restrained.
"Apparently you know something about, uh... dimension hopping."
Connor grimaced and felt his muscles tense as he felt the cold barrel of the gun beneath his chin. It took all of Connor's will power to stifle his reflex to disarm the guy. That would only make the situation worse, judging by the serious anger issues this Sam guy was having. Plus, he was a freaked out civilian. Connor could understand his reaction. To a point.
But, Connor wasn't too comfortable with someone putting a gun to his throat, so that will power wasn't going to hold him back for long.
"I don't know how or why I'm here," Sam said, "but you're gonna drop this Cuckoo's Nest crap and tell me, or I'm gonna put a bullet in your head."
Connor glared at him, his hands balling into fists at his sides.
"You really don't want to threaten me."
It was a warning. Connor was unarmed, and not a direct threat to Sam, so there was a chance the guy would back off.
Connor kept his eyes on Sam as Faith approached.
"OK... Come on now. Why don't we all just chill out for a minute here."
As Faith talked, Connor kept his gaze on Sam. Connor was seconds away from disarming the man, but every instinct he had was telling him to hold back. Sam seemed to be a civilian, and Connor... well, wasn't exactly a civilian. And that wasn't exactly something he wanted to advertise any more than he already had.
Connor shifted his gaze to Faith without moving his head.
"Look, Connor. If you were me, you know I can't just go with you right now. Glory is... Glory is bad news and I know something is going on... But, I need some time to breathe, a serious fucking drink and some time to let this sink in. And... I think the big fella here could use some time to sort things out as well. You acting all fan boy over Glory is not helping us."
'I know something is going on.' Did that mean she got that he needed her help? Or did she just know something was seriously messed up? Connor's gaze ticked back to Sam. Yeah, this guy had some serious sorting to do.
"Holster your gun, or I'll do it for you," Connor said, his voice low and cold.
