Okay, so this is a guide to everything you might run into while you’re hanging around here. It’s constantly being updated, so check back once in a while, or if you find something that’s not covered here let me know. I quote sources when I have them, but if I don’t I’m going off of personal experience.
Color Codes:
Demons (333333)
Shapeshifters (663300)
Humans (003399)
Gifted Humans (660033)
Vampires (006600)
Other (660066)
These are the things everyone talks about, but no one wants to run into.
//The Powers That Be//
The Powers That Be were a race of creatures that ruled the Earth before demons or humankind. They left the earthly dimension when it was overtaken by Darkness and demons, and have remained watchful of our realm. They communicate using messengers and various mystical methods.
//The Old Ones//
The Old Ones were pure, undiluted demons who ruled the Earth before Humankind. They were extremely powerful and commanded vast legions of armies. The world was full of war and carnage. As moral animals arose, and then humans, the Old Ones began to slowly deminish. Some died, some fled to other dimensions. The remains of the Old Ones are kept in The Deeper Well, a hole in the world between the Cotswolds and New Zealand. This was to prevent the resurrection of their bodies and essences. Races of modern demons are thought to be hybrids of the Old Ones and humans.
Notable Powerful Beings:
Jasmine - One of the Powers That Be
Illyria - One of the Old Ones
The Senior Partners - Three demons thought to be Old Ones
The Beast - A monster that is controlled by a higher power
Glorificus (a.k.a. Glory) - A Hell God
The First - The first evil, a manifestation of the darkness that once overtook the earth
There are a lot of different types of vampires. For now, I’m going to list the ones I know for sure are around, but I’ll add more as I run into them.
//Demonic Vampires://
These are descendants of a race of demons that walked the earth before humans came into existence.
These guys can appear human until they feed or attack. Their faces scrunch up and their eyes turn yellow or orange. Then of course there are the fangs and pointed teeth. They have increased speed and strength, and heightened senses. They are vulnerable to sunlight, holy water, crosses, fire, decapitation, and they can’t enter a private dwelling without an invitation. Destruction of the heart will usually kill them. These vampires don’t have a reflection.
For the most part, they don’t have souls, but there are rare exceptions.
They’re most commonly found in Sunnydale.
//Los Niños://
These are vampires who have been infected with a virus that turned them into bloodthirsty creatures.
These guys have a few different names. “Los Perididos” or “The Lost”, and “Los Niños” – “The Children” are the most common. They tend to settle in groups, or “families”, and typically live in cool, dark places. They have super-human strength, heightened senses, and the ability to fly. They’re vulnerable to holy water, sunlight, fire, decapitation, and they can’t enter a private dwelling without an invitation. Destruction of the heart will kill most, but not all. These vampires don’t have a reflection.
If you invite a Los Niños vampire into your home, it gives them strength and some of their usual vulnerabilities might not apply.
The turning process for these guys is kind of drawn out. A person has to drink the blood of a vampire to be infected with the virus. As time goes by, they develop a craving for blood and may start to develop some vampiric weaknesses, like sensitivity to sunlight or holy water. During this time period, they’re Half-Vampires and it’s possible for them to regain their humanity. In order to make the full transformation, a Half-Vampire has to kill and drink from a person. Once this happens, they can’t become human again.
To save a Half-Vampire, you have to kill the Head Vampire of the “family” they belong to. The Head Vampire is the oldest vampire in the group, and the one who infected the rest. The Head Vampire is usually stronger and harder to kill than the others.
Special Vampires:
These guys are pretty badass.
.::The Master::.
Supposedly, Buffy killed this guy in 1997, but apparently that doesn’t matter.
.::Kakistos::.
Kakistos is an ancient vampire from Greece. He was the leader of the Cult of Antemorh until it was disbanded after World War I. He was cruel in his methods, torturing his victims mercilessly. Supposedly, Faith Lehane killed him in 1998, and so far he hasn’t made an appearance… but, you never know.
.::Darla::.
As a human, Darla was bron in the British Isles and traveled to the Virginia Colony in North America. She contracted syphilis and while she was dying, she was visited by The Master and Sired in 1609. She became a member of The Master’s Order of Aurelius. In the mid-1700s, she traveled to Galway, Ireland, where she met and Sired a young man named Liam, renaming him Angelus. When forced to choose between the Order and Angelus, she chose Angelus.
By 1997, Darla had rejoined The Order of Aurelius, and continued to shed blood wherever she went. Angel killed her in 1997, but she was resurrected later by Wolfram & Hart, only to kill herself during childbirth.
.::Angel::.
When he was human, Angel’s name was Liam and he lived in Ireland. He was sired by Darla and was renamed Angelus. He became one of the most violent and murderous vampires ever known.
In 1898, Angelus murdered a Gypsy woman of the Kalderash clan. Her family restored his soul so that he’d forever feel overwhelming guilt for all the evil deeds he’d done. He changed his name to Angel and went into isolation, traveling to the U.S.
Angel is one of the few demonic vampires who has his soul.
.::Drusilla::.
Originally from England, Drusilla was a deeply religious woman when she was human, and she had psychic abilities she believed were evil. She caught the attention of Darla and Angelus in 1860, and Angelus stalked and tormented her until she was driven insane. Then he turned her and she traveled with him and Darla.
Drusilla sired a young poet named William Pratt, who would later change his name to Spike.
Drusilla and Spike traveled to Sunnydale in 1997, planning to kill Buffy. Drusilla seems weak and a bit lofty, but she has the power to hypnotize people, making them see what she wants them to. She also gets premonitions.
Drusilla killed the Slayer Kendra Young in 1998.
.::Spike::.
Originally from England, Spike was known as William Pratt in life. He was a poet who lived with his mother until he was Sired by Drusilla. He became one of the most feared vampires in history, earning the name Spike because he liked to torture people with railroad spikes. Spike has killed two Slayers in his time, and came to Sunnydale with Drusilla in 1997 to try to make Buffy number three.
When Angel lost his soul and tried to destroy the world, Spike formed a shaky alliance with Buffy to stop this from happening. After he was captured by the Initiative in 1999, they implanted a chip in his head that prevented him from killing innocents. He started working with Buffy to fight evil.
After going through a series of trials, Spike’s soul was restored. He fought alongside Buffy and her friends and aided them in defeating The First. Sunlight was channeled through a mystical amulet Spike wore, which wiped out the army of vampires in the Hellmouth, and obliterated Sunnydale, killing Spike in the process.
Spike was resurrected by Wolfram & Hart in 2004.
.::Max::.
Max is an elder vampire living in the Santa Carla area. He was active largely in the 1980’s, but his age is unknown. At some point he infected David, who became his right-hand man who did a lot of his dirty work. David infected Marko, Dwayne, and Paul, and the group killed mercilessly.
Through David, Max planned to create a family, targeting the Emerson family. David befriended Michael Emerson and tricked him into drinking his blood, turning him into a Half-Vampire. Max thought if he turned Michael and his younger brother, Sam, their mother, Lucy, would have no choice but to join them. Then they’d be a family.
Max was killed by Michael Emerson and his grandfather in the summer of 1987.
//Slayers//
For as long as humans have existed, there has been a Slayer to protect them. For centuries only one Slayer was active at a time, and when she died the next one in line was Called.
Buffy Summers was the last lone Slayer.
Faith Lehane was the last Slayer to be Called, not Activated.
Now there’s an entire population of active Slayers.
Slayers have increased strength and speed, and heal more rapidly than ordinary humans. They can be killed by any means that would kill a human.
//Witches//
A witch is anyone who practices magic. Someone can either be born a natural witch, or train themselves in the Craft to become one. Some witches have psychic abilities, but some do not. Spellcasting and potions are common strengths.
//Psychics//
Anyone who has any kind of mental power or ability, like telekinesis, telepathy, or mind-reading, is a psychic. Everyone gets their abilities in different ways, whether they're born with them or get them through other means later in life.
//Vengeance Demons://
Also known as Justice Demons, they work for an elder demon called D’Hoffryn, who seeks out women in pain and recruits them into the business of Vengeance. They grant wishes, each demon specializing in a specific area.
//Brachen Demons://
Full Brachen Demons are rare, and thought to be extinct. Most are Brachen-Human Hybrids. They have green skin, red irises, and their faces are covered in spines. Their necks are double jointed. They can smell objects with mystical powers and have a good sense of direction. All have the ability to assume human form.
//Deathwok Demons//
Native to the Hell dimension, Pylea, where they are the dominant race of beings, Deathwok Demons are warriors. They're skilled trackers and see humans as inferior beings. They have green skin and red horns. They have the ability to perceive auras, and use this ability to hunt. Their hearts are located in their buttocks and beheading does not kill them.
//Demon Hybrids://
People who are only half-demons are called Hybrids. Some types are more common than others. For example, Brachen hybrids are very common, whereas vampire hybrids aren’t so much.
So far, I’m the only known vampire hybrid in existence.
Werewolves:
A person can either be born a werewolf, or they can be bitten by one and turned into a werewolf. They shift during the full moon cycle and sometimes during times of panic or emotional turmoil. It’s possible for one to learn to control their shifting, or learn to shift at will. Werewolves have heightened senses and reflexes. In human form, they are vulnerable to anything humans are typically vulnerable to. In animal form, they can only be killed with a silver bullet to the head or the heart, and they can be harmed by silver. Decapitation will kill some, but not all.

-THE BIG AND THE BAD-
These are the things everyone talks about, but no one wants to run into.
//The Powers That Be//
"In the beginning, before the time of Man, great Beings walked the Earth. Untold power emanated from all corners - the seeds of what would come to be known as Good and Evil."-Author unknown
The Powers That Be were a race of creatures that ruled the Earth before demons or humankind. They left the earthly dimension when it was overtaken by Darkness and demons, and have remained watchful of our realm. They communicate using messengers and various mystical methods.
//The Old Ones//
"For untold eons demons walked the Earth. They made it their home... Their Hell. But in time they lost their purchase on this reality. The way was made for mortal animals... For Man. All that remain of the Old Ones are vestiges, certain magicks, certain creatures."- from The Watcher Diaries by R. Giles.
The Old Ones were pure, undiluted demons who ruled the Earth before Humankind. They were extremely powerful and commanded vast legions of armies. The world was full of war and carnage. //Demonic Vampires://

“A hybrid race that began with the birth of Humankind, demonic vampires are demons that derive from a very particular process. A demonic vampire is a human who has been turned, or Sired. The human must be drained of their blood, and then be fed the blood of a vampire. Once turned, these creatures are viciously evil.”– from The Watcher Diaries by R. Giles
These guys can appear human until they feed or attack. Their faces scrunch up and their eyes turn yellow or orange. Then of course there are the fangs and pointed teeth. These are vampires who have been infected with a virus that turned them into bloodthirsty creatures.
“When a vampire bites it, it’s never a pretty sight. Some explode, some implode. Some yell and scream, some go quietly. But all will try to take you with them.”– from Santa Carla: Haven for the Undead by E. Frog.
These guys have a few different names. “Los Perididos” or “The Lost”, and “Los Niños” – “The Children” are the most common. .::The Master::.
“The Master is the oldest known vampire in the area of Sunnydale. His true age is still to this day unknown, but he is believed to be older than 600 years. His age has granted him strength and power beyond that of any other vampire in the area. It has also altered his appearance in such a way that he is unable to assume human form and appears always demonic. He was the leader of the Order of Aurelius, a cult made up of his loyal followers. In 1937, an earthquake caused a cave-in and The Master’s lair, with him inside, was swallowed into the earth. He was imprisoned by a mystical wall in the sunken church beneath the town.”– from The Watcher Diaries by Q. Travers.
Supposedly, Buffy killed this guy in 1997, but apparently that doesn’t matter.
.::Kakistos::.
“Kakistos is Greek. It means ‘the worst of the worst.’ It is also the name of a vampire so old his hands and feet are cloven.”– from The Watcher Diaries by R. Giles.

//Slayers//
“Into every generation a Slayer is born: One girl in all the world, a Chosen One, with the strength and skill to combat the Forces of Darkness.
