We Are Legion. We Are Forever.

Vital Statistics
Full Name: Christopher Scott Gallo
Aliases and Nicknames: He prefers Scott, but he’ll answer to Chris, Christopher, or Gallo. He’s also been called “You crazy bastard!” but he doesn’t like that one much.
Date of Birth: May 15, 2149
Current Age: 25
Current Year: 2181 (Yes, my math is right. See history for details.)
Universe: Pandorum (but pretty much original)
Alliance: None
Species: Human
Sub-Species: Civilian
Powers and Abilities:
Heightened senses and reflexes: a side effect of a drug that was ingested over time, meant to allow him to evolve to a new planetary atmosphere if need be. Since he never made it to a new environment, all it really did was enhance what he already had. He was already in top physical condition, and now he just runs faster, jumps higher, all that fun stuff. Nothing too noticeable unless you pit him against a normal human man in equal or better physical shape. He is also a skilled navigator as a partial result of the enhanced senses.
Physical Appearance
Height: 6’ 0”
Weight/Build: Muscular
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Blond
Attire: Scott doesn’t really have much by way of attire. He’s been wearing simple clothing for the past few years and his entire wardrobe consisted of: athletic jogging pants, basic tank tops and t-shirts, sneakers, one or two long-sleeved shirts, and his uniform. The uniform consisted of simple black pants, black boots, a basic t-shirt, and a space-age-looking zip-up jacket with his last name on the left breast and the symbol for his rank of Corporal on the left sleeve. There is also an emblem to indicate he is a member of the Elysium flight crew.(not him, but the uniform’s the same.)
However, if given the choice, he’d go for comfort and functionality above all else. Screw labels, designers, and even flattery. If it fits and it’s comfortable, he’ll wear it.
Distinguishing Traits:
Tattoos:
One on his left hip that says “Godspeed”
One on his right bicep of a tribal dragon
One on his inner left forearm that’s a military identification number: FLT>>004>>012
Relationships
Blood Ties: Unknown to him // Father: Alessandro Gallo (deceased), Mother: Alison Atkins-Gallo (deceased), Brother: Jonathan Gallo (deceased)
Love Life:Unknown to him // He dated a lot during high school, but he didn't have any serious relationships. He’s been on a space ship or in cryogenic sleep for the past several years, so nothing recent.
Friends and Acquaintances: None
Enemies: None that he knows of, but he sort of assumes you’re an enemy until he decides otherwise.
Group Affiliations: None
Personality
Describe: Gallo’s personality really depends on what mental state you happen to catch him in. If he’s relaxed, calm, and confident, he’s a very rational, disciplined, and focused individual. He’s a problem solver and will look at something from several different angles, using logic and reason to piece things together. He’s also very strong-willed and determined, making him a lot like a brick wall at times: if he gets his mind set on something, it’s very difficult to sway him. He doesn’t take kindly to being questioned or talked down to. He makes a point to think things through before doing them, and if the need arises for him to rely on his instincts, he trusts those instincts and has no qualms about making a quick decision based on them. So, when someone slows him down by demanding explanations or asking questions he gets impatient and downright snippy. In his opinion, he knows what he’s doing, and he takes it as an insult when others don’t see that. These aspects make up the core of his personality and are always apparent, regardless of his state of mind.
However (there’s always a however, isn’t there?) Gallo has spent the last several years aboard a large transport vessel (otherwise known as a spaceship) called the Eylisium. After performing his duties on the ship for an extended period of time, Gallo began to suffer the effects of Orbital Dysfunctional Syndrome (otherwise known as Pandorum): a psychological condition that can occur as a result of extended isolation from the world due to space travel. He experienced paranoia, disorientation, delusions, and hostility. As he was experiencing these symptoms, which he considered minor, he experienced a traumatic event that triggered a psychotic break. He killed his crew during this “episode” and felt extreme guilt and despair afterwards.
This event and his actions have affected his personality in a fundamental way. Being an intelligent man of logic and reason who is usually methodical in the way he thinks things out, his own actions baffled him. He couldn’t understand why he had done what he had done, or what the consequences were. After all, there were no more court systems, no government back on Earth, if there even was an earth anymore. Everyone who witnessed the crime was dead, and every other living human was on the ship slumbering in cryogenic chambers. So, really, who was there to judge him? Punish him? God, maybe, but he doubted there even was a God with everything that had happened. He came to the realization that the only thing to dictate what was right and wrong anymore was his own mind. He could mold morality to fit his own point of view.
Now, Gallo is at a bit of a moral crossroads. Depending on what happens to him and who he meets, he could become anchored in an environment where morality is more universal and has consequences, both for him an other people, or he could isolate himself and retreat further into his own mind. Generally, he is still a rational person, but he’s more concerned with rationalizing things to serve his own needs. He’s very secretive and a bit manipulative. He’ll tell people what he thinks they need to hear in order to be able to secure a beneficial relationship with them.
Gallo is driven by fear more than anything else. He’s afraid of death, and he’s afraid of other people. He sees everyone as a threat to him in one way or another. He’s constantly looking over his shoulder, and he’s always afraid someone will uncover the truth about who he really is, and what he’s really done. He’ll do anything he feels he needs to in order to protect himself and maintain what freedom he has.
When faced with a directly threatening situation, Gallo panics, but not in the way you’d think. He remains rational, and can appear calm and non-threatening. His first tactic will always be to rationalize, to reason with the other party to try to get them to see his point of view. If they refuse to compromise with him, he can very quickly become hostile, aggressive, and violent.

“Fatal Flaw”: He has an inferiority complex. No matter what he does, he always feels inadequate and insecure. This is the reason for a lot of his shortcomings, and the fear that drives him stems from it also: he’s truly afraid that he’ll somehow slip up and reveal that he’s not what people expect him to be. He also has experienced a loss of self and identity. He isn’t secure in who he is and doesn’t feel like he even knows himself anymore.
History
Christopher Scott Gallo was born on May 15, 2147 to Alison and Alessandro Gallo in Los Angeles, California. His brother, Jonathan, was born on December 3, 2155. During his lifetime, the planet was always in a state of peril. He was raised in a world that was counting down to its inevitable destruction, and advanced space travel was very much a reality. His parents told him stories of brave men and women who traveled to other planets and other galaxies in search of a place the human race would someday call home. “But what about this place?” he would ask. “What about our home?” His mother would skirt around the question, not wanting to frighten him, but his father would gravely say, “This planet is dying, and it’s our own damn fault.”
Because his first name was so common, he started going by his middle name early on. Throughout his childhood, Scott was fascinated by the thought of space travel, but he was also sad that there seemed to be no hope for his own planet. He learned about the Earth’s history, how it was once a thriving, beautiful planet with vast oceans, beaches of smooth sand, tropical rain forests. What little rain forest areas remained were preserves whose ecosystems were in peril and many species of animals and plants were extinct or endangered. Beaches were not resort areas. They were what remained of eroding coastal towns and cities. The air was polluted to such a degree that it was dangerous for anyone to linger outside for extended lengths of time without risking respiratory distress. Precautions were needed, such as protective face masks. Extreme weather was common. Fires plagued the southern hemisphere while blizzards dominated the north. Hail and sand storms were everyday occurrences. A fuel shortage made for disharmony between all countries.
Scott was a dedicated student and he excelled in his studies, graduating with honors in 2167. He played football and he was popular among the jocks, but he had a tendency to get intensely competitive and cocky. This earned him a reputation for being your typical stuck-up, snobby jock. After he graduated, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he became even more disciplined. His competitive and driven nature served him well, and his cocky attitude was put in check very quickly. By 2170 he had risen to the rank of Corporal. By the following year, he had enlisted in the training program for the Elysium Mission. The Elysium was a large passenger vessel meant to carry a population of 60,000 people to the planet Tanis. Gallo was trained to be a member of the ship’s flight crew.
In 2174, the Elysium was launched and Gallo, along with the bulk of the ship’s passengers, was put into deep hypersleep until his shift began. There were several members of the flight crew, and only three were active at a time. Each three-person team served active duty on the ship for two years before awakening their successors. While Gallo was in suspended animation for six years, he didn’t age. When he was awakened for his shift in 2180, he was still twenty-five years old. As an unfortunate side-effect of deep, extended hypersleep, Gallo experienced retrograde amnesia. He awoke disoriented to the degree that he couldn’t remember any of his past, or even his name. As he went through the ship and performed his various duties, he realized he still remembered his training, and he gradually remembered his name and bits and pieces of his past.
About a year into his shift, the team received a pre-recorded message informing them that the people aboard the Elysium were all that remained of the human race. Whether the earth was destroyed or the human race was wiped from the planet was unclear, but the details didn’t matter. The world as they knew it was gone, and they were all that was left of it.
Gallo had already been exhibiting symptoms of Orbital Dysfunctional Syndrome, also known as Pandorum: a psychological condition associated with extended deep space travel. These mild symptoms of paranoia, hostility, and delusions were further triggered by the devastating news. Gallo snapped and killed the other members of his flight crew, along with the ship's Captain.

Additional Information
*Note: I plan to have Gallo come into the universe with two items - his gun and a book. His gun would be pretty futuristic and would probably have a shelf-life, since I'd think he'd run out of ammo or charge or whatever it is the gun runs off of, and he wouldn't be able to replenish it.*
