Date of Birth: April 23, 1979
Current Age: 26
Current Year: 2005
Universe: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Alliance: Good
Species: Shapeshifter
Sub-Species: Werewolf
Powers and Abilities:
+Heightened Senses – You know the five: smell, touch, taste, hearing, and sight. As a side effect of his animal side, Oz’s senses are sharper than the average human’s, particularly his hearing and his sense of smell. His sense of smell is so keen that he can identify people and sense their emotions by scent.
+Tracking – As a result of his heightened senses, Oz can track people and some creatures by scent if needed. This works best if it’s someone he’s had a lot of contact with, and may not work so well with someone he’s only encountered once or twice.
+Shapeshifting – Oz can transform into a werewolf, which can be equally beneficial and harmful to himself and others depending on the situation. Currently, he is able to control his shifting to some degree so that he doesn’t change during the full moon. He can change at will, but he doesn’t like to do it, so those occurrences are very rare. Although he can control his shifting, he can still transform if he’s overcome by any strong emotion, and he is especially vulnerable to this type of shift during the full moon.
Physical Appearance
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight/Build: slender/lean
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Red, though he dyes it often.
Attire: Oz is a laid back kind of guy, and his wardrobe reflects this. He dresses casually and comfortably, usually wearing loose fitting t-shirts and worn jeans. He’s not picky with the colors he wears and he often wears concert t-shirts. He has a few pairs of sneakers and work boots as well as a few jackets, but the core of his wardrobe is made up of jeans and t-shirts.
Distinguishing Traits: He’s a big furry creature sometimes. That’s pretty distinguishing. Also, his hair is sometimes a weird color, like blue or green. And he’s kind of short.
Relationships
Blood Ties: Jack Osbourne (father); Kathleen Osbourne (mother); Maureen (aunt); Ken (uncle); Jordy (cousin).
Love Life: Willow Rosenberg (former girlfriend); Veruca (former fling)
Friends and Acquaintances: Willow Rosenberg, Buffy Summers, Xander Harris, Rupert Giles, Angel, Cordelia Chase, and others.
Enemies: Faith Lehane (last he checked), Gib Cain, possible others.
Group Affiliations: Scooby Gang
Personality
Describe: Oz is very laid back and observant. He tends to be quiet and pensive, but just because he may not say much that doesn’t mean he’s not paying attention. When he does speak up, it’s normally to offer insight or make a witty observation. Nothing he says is ever pointless or to fill or break a silence. He’d rather not say anything at all than say something unnecessary.
Oz is very intelligent, despite a lack of motivation he sometimes has to learn new things. However, when he does open his mind to learning something new, he’s fully capable of mastering it. Oz is deeply philosophical and, for the most part, open-minded and non-confrontational. He’s good at reading people and most social situations, but he’s often difficult to read himself and doesn’t like to reveal his thoughts and feelings unless he feels it’s necessary.
Although he’s generally a content, relaxed person, there’s literally a totally separate side to him. One that’s primal, savage, and bloodthirsty. There is nothing that scares Oz more than not being in control of his own actions. Although he’s learned to tame the beast within, to some degree, he’s constantly making a conscious effort to remain cool, calm, and collected. Unfortunately, keeping his animal side on such a tight leash has its drawbacks. That part of him is always chomping at the bit, trying to get out, and is always able to get a foothold during the full moon. Although Oz is able to remain human during this lunar phase, he may become fatigued (since it takes a lot of energy to keep himself under control). He may also be a bit more hostile and on edge, and may exhibit primal behavior.
If Oz feels threatened, experiences an adrenaline rush, or becomes overwhelmed with an intense emotion – basically, if anything triggers his fight or flight response – he’s at high risk of transforming into a werewolf. He can sense the change coming and has a small window of opportunity to calm himself down. If he can’t manage to do that, he can also slow the change itself, buying him a few more moments to calm himself. During this in-between stage, Oz is still Oz, but he’s a very strange blend of himself and the wolf. He takes on a more aggressive nature and may become more hostile.
In his wolf-form, Oz has some control over his actions, though he’s very much a bloodthirsty beast (don’t pet him). However, he retains basic feelings toward certain people that he feels as a human. So, as a werewolf, he can feel protective of and attached to his friends and loved ones, and direct his hostility away from them.
Oz has a tendency to isolate himself, and cut himself off from those he loves. This stems from his fear of losing control of his nature and harming them. The longer he’s around people he cares about, the more afraid he becomes.

“Fatal Flaw”: His emotions. Oz’s biggest strength and biggest weakness is how in tune he is – or isn’t – with his emotions. He works so hard to hold back his emotions that when he feels something, it’s too overwhelming for him to handle. His emotions will usually cause him to run away from situations… or run recklessly into them.
History
Daniel Osbourne was born in Sunnydale, California on April 23, 1979 to Jack and Kathleen Osbourne. He had a generally pleasant childhood and was always a shy but inquisitive kid. He never belonged to any particular group of friends and tended to mingle with several different social cliques indiscriminately. As a result he was generally well-liked by those who knew who he was.
In high school he formed a band with Devon MacLeish and a few other friends called Dingoes Ate My Baby (or The Dingoes). Oz played guitar and sang back-up vocals. He attended Sunnydale High School and performed at The Bronze frequently with The Dingoes. He was intelligent and always displayed good test scores, and an in-depth understanding of class material, but he had a habit of not doing homework and skipping classes that tanked his G.P.A.
Oz was intrigued by Willow Rosenberg when he saw her from the stage while he was performing at The Bronze. She was dressed as an Eskimo. After that he kept catching her at odd moments and the two crossed paths now and then. They began dating and pursuing a serious relationship and Oz was brought into her circle of friends, which included: Buffy Summers, Xander Harris, Cordelia Chase, Angel, and Rupert Giles.
He realized he was a werewolf around the time he began dating Willow. He’d been bitten by his cousin, Jordy, who was apparently a werewolf. He didn’t like the fact that he could not control his transformation or his actions while in were-form.
Due to a lack of academic motivation, Oz had to repeat his senior year of high school. He graduated in 1999 with Buffy and the rest of the group, and he was one of the lucky survivors of the Mayor’s thwarted Ascension. After graduation, Oz attended UC Sunnydale along with Buffy and Willow. It was there that he realized how much the were-side of him frightened him, and how much of a danger he could be to others. He also met another werewolf named Veruca, who had a very different take on their “condition.” She tried to convince Oz to give into his nature, to let his wild side run free, despite the consequences. In an attempt to keep Veruca from killing anyone during her full moon transformation, Oz locked himself in a cage with her, and the two had sex. Willow found them in the morning, and both she and Oz were heartbroken. When Veruca attacked Willow in her were-form, Oz was forced to change and kill Veruca to protect the woman he loved. He was captured by the Initiative and experimented on. After Buffy and company broke him out of the facility, Oz left Sunnydale in search of a way to control his transformations.
After traveling to Tibet and other parts of the world where he learned techniques that allowed him to tame the wolf within, Oz returned to Sunnydale to find that Willow had fallen in love with Tara Maclay. He was so over-come with jealousy and anger that he transformed and nearly killed Tara. He left Sunnydale once again and he and Willow parted ways on friendly terms.
Since then, Oz has been nomadic, never spending more than a few months in one place at a time, never forming lasting friendships or relationships. He was shocked to learn that Sunnydale was destroyed, but his family and friends were quick to contact him to let him know they were alright. He was told that the Potentials were all activated as full Slayers and that the Hellmouth was closed. He was informed that Anya and Spike were killed. After that, he stopped receiving clear details, both because he lost touch with his friends, and because he became extremely difficult to contact.
Oz can currently control his transformations to some degree. Although he feels the pull of the full moon, he is able to remain human during that time. However, he can transform under situations of distress, pain, or very strong emotion. He continues to travel, leading a solitary, nomadic lifestyle, and he’s always trying to learn more about himself and his wild side. He has key cities he often visits, including Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, and Rome.
