Her senses have all been heightened, and she can even see in the ultraviolet spectrum. Her healing rate is greatly increased and she can even regenerate limbs and other body parts.
Being a Sergeant in the Army, Krista already had to her disposal amazing combat skills including hand-to-hand and firearm training.
Krista's weaknesses would of course include sunlight, silver, garlic, a stake through the heart and the thirst. Due to Blade's serum, she cannot ingest normal food or drink and if she does, she becomes ill. This leaves the serum, or blood, as her only source of food.
(Note: vampires in the Blade The Series universe do not exhibit a fear and/or feel pain when exposed to crosses or holy water. They do not go all bumpy when in vamp form – they just grow fangs. They also do reflect in mirrors.)

Group Affiliations: Turnedblood member of House of Chthon, and a member of Blade’s vampire hunters, sort of.
Personality
Describe:. Being an independent woman, Krista is very opinionated. She is passionate about her beliefs and will stop at nothing to reach any goal set before her. She is the type of person where, if you tell her to do one thing, she will turn right around and do the complete opposite. It's her nature to be challenging.
Obviously, this type of a personality can get one into trouble, the deep, brown kind of trouble. And for Krista, it already has. This challenging nature of hers is what thrust her into her current predicament, that of being a vampire; and being a vampire-double-agent no less.
Despite her outward appearance of confidence, Krista is on the inside a very lost, young soul. Her world has been turned upside down and inside out, and she constantly wonders whether or not she's fighting the correct fight. With the death of all of her loved ones, she battles with the thought that there is nothing left to live for, and thus, often wishes she could give in to the thirst, allowing herself to fully be what she has become.

“Fatal Flaw”: The Thirst and her longing to give into it, to have no cares, no remorse and “just be”. The only thing stopping her from that though, is the fear of losing herself...
History
Krista Starr was a Sergeant in the US Army. While serving in Iraq, Krista was wounded in a bombing and after she had recovered, returned from her tour of duty to her home in Detroit, Michigan. At her “Coming Home” party which was being held at her mother's house, she was told that no one had seen her twin-brother, Zachary Starr in a while and that he had fallen in with the wrong crowd. Upset that no one from the family would vouch for him, Krista tried to reassure them that he was a good kid. Later that night, police arrived at the party and informed them that Zach had been killed.
Upset by his murder, Krista vowed to track down his killer. She visited with Detective Brain Boone at the police station. Unbeknownst to her, Boone was a Familiar, a human who served a vampire master in the hope of earning the right to be turned. Noticing a strange glyph tattooed on Zach's neck, Krista asked Boone about it. He passed it off to her as a gang symbol, eager to close the case as an ordinary gang killing in order to cover up for his master.
Sensing that she was getting the runaround, Krista drew the glyph out and researched it herself. Her research led her to Professor Melvin Caylo, who preceded to tell her that vampires were real and that her brother's tattoo marked him as a Familiar. Unwilling to believe him, Krista left. As she continued to investigate, several vampires staged a car accident and lured her into an abandoned warehouse. They confronted her and attempted to kill her, but were stopped by the vampire hunter known as Blade. Blade ashed the vampires, but warned Krista to stop looking into her brother's death because it would get her killed as well.
Krista returned to Professor Caylo to hear him out. After learning who and what Blade was, she sought the hunter out and insisted that he help her find out who killed her brother. Blade told her that it was ordered by a vampire by the name of Marcus Van Sciver, Chthon's Detroit House Leader. Blade informed Krista that Marcus was on to something big; a potential game-changer for vampires and humans alike. Van Sciver was developing a drug known as Aurora, a serum that once injected, was intended to give all vampires immunity to silver, sunlight and garlic. After much argument, Blade finally relented and told Krista that she could help in bringing Van Sciver down.
While attending a charity function which Marcus was hosting, Krista attempted to pin a tracer on the vampire, but was prevented by doing so by the crowd of people. Noticing the most beautiful woman in the room, Marcus beckoned Krista over. After several minutes of small-talk, Marcus revealed that he knew she was Zach Starr's sister, and warned her to stay away.
After shaking Marcus' death grip loose, Krista stalked out of the building and to her car, where she took off a camera she was wearing to allow Blade and his weapons expert, Shen, to see what she was seeing. Pulling a weapon out of her trunk, Krista positioned herself on a nearby rooftop and waited for Van Sciver to appear so she could exact her revenge.
As Marcus exited the building, Krista aimed the assault rifle at his heart, and was about to pull the trigger when Chase, a beautiful platinum blonde whose Marcus' right arm, ambushed her, knocking her unconscious and then delivering her to Marcus at the House of Chthon. Marcus injected Krista with a vial of his blood and then threw her off a rooftop, killing her.
She awakened in the morgue later that night, a vampire. Distraught and having the blood memories of Marcus assailing her mind, she returned to him at the House of Chthon.
Once within the safety of Chthon's doors, Krista was given fresh blood to drink as Marcus patiently explained the gift that she had been given, the gift that he freely gave. She is bestowed a room at the House (albeit a locked room) and is later led to a building where Marcus presented to her what would have been her first human kill: Detective Boone.
Overcome with the thirst, Krista savagely attacked Boone, ripping out his throat and drinking deeply. However, in her frenzy she failed to completely drain him of blood, and Boone himself is turned in to vampire.
Concerned about Krista, and perhaps feeling the beginnings of an affection for her, Marcus ordered Chase to take Krista under her wing and care for her until the newborn vampire was established.
Jealous that Marcus had found a new “toy” to occupy him, Chase, being an open bisexual, began to feel a toxic love-hate relationship with Krista. However, her years of service as being Marcus' second-in-command overrode whatever feelings of animosity she may have had towards the athletic brunette, and faithfully followed Marcus' orders.
However, as Marcus' attention continued to be directed to Krista and not her, Chase finally gave in to her predatory instinct, and swears to Fritz, a Chthon muscle, that she would kill Krista at the first chance she got.
H
owever, Blade, who had been attempting to reach Krista since her abduction, finally caught up to her and Chase while they were out for an evening. A confrontation followed, during which Krista was injected by the half-vampire, half-human with his very own serum. The serum, which keeps Blade's thirst at bay, cleared Krista's mind of the merciless instinct.
Assaulted by overwhelming feelings of guilt, sensations of physical pain and emotional longing, Krista began to come down from the euphoria that she had been experiencing since becoming a vampire. Feeling the first sense of loss for her brother since being turned, Krista visited his grave as the sun set. There, while contemplating her difficult situation and emotions, Blade arrived, bringing with him an offer.
As long as Krista acted as a spy within Chthon, providing information on Marcus and his pet-project Aurora, Blade would supply her with all the serum she needed to stay lucid and survive. Krista, not wanting to lose herself to the world of vampires and wanting to avenge the murder of her brother, which Marcus personally carried out, begrudgingly agreed.
Taking the serum, Krista hid the medicine in a chain of vials below her shower drain. With her desire to feed suppressed, and the serum standing-in as her food, Krista began to stir suspicion among the other vampires. Marcus, unsure as to why Krista refused to feed, chalked up her reluctance to kill because she was a newborn and thusly, paid little attention to the odd behavior.
Krista's earlier failure to kill Boone now came back to haunt her newfound conscious. Boone began a cross country killing spree, a potentially fatal blow to Marcus and the future of the Aurora Project. If Boone attracted the attention of the Pure Bloods, the true nature of the Aurora serum could be revealed.
Ordering Krista and Chase to “clean up the mess”, Marcus sent them to Oregon for a blood ritual at the House of Leichen. During the ritual, Krista saw visions of Zach, who told her to continue her work with Blade. Interrupting her reverie with her brother, images of Boone and his exploits assail her. Krista awakens from her trance with the knowledge of Boone's location.
However, the ritual, which was supposed to last less than 20 minutes, in the end took over 5 hours. It is told to Krista by a Leichen house member that, the unusually long time could only be caused by the fact that she still resisted her vampiric instincts. He told Krista that whoever she once was, was still strong within her.
He also told her to be careful, for Chase saw it too.
Krista and Chase eventually locate Boone and, before he was able to spill secrets about Aurora to a handful of pure bloods, ashed him. However, it is later revealed (to the viewers) that Boone had faked his ashing. He escaped, and disappears.
Despite having stopped Boone from attracting the attention of the Pure Bloods, Krista and Chase were not able to prevent the rogue vampire from drawing the attention of FBI Agent Ray Collins. After stumbling upon the trail of mutilated bodies left in Boone's wake, Collins began his own investigation into the goings on. Before long, the trail the “monsters” were leaving him, would lead right to Chthon's front door.
As the weeks passed, and Krista was able to learn more about Aurora, she was continuously pressed by Blade to obtain a sample.
But being a double agent had its drawbacks.
On a raid led by Chase, Krista is forced to make a hard choice – either kill the vampire Fritz (who by this time, has been a successful test subject for Aurora) before Blade can capture him, or allow Fritz to be taken, which would possibly blow her cover with Marcus. She decided to kill Fritz, beheading the chemically super-powered vampire.
As Fritz died, a tremendous explosion erupts as the stronger vampire ashes. Krista is caught in the shock wave and fell backwards to the ground, where various debris staked her, barely missing her heart. She was taken back to Chthon where, under the concerned wing of Marcus, she recovered.
As Krista once again tried to obtain a sample of Aurora for Blade, she was stopped by Marcus. He revealed that Aurora didn't work. Furthermore, he gave her a choice; either accept her new life as a vampire and be with him, or die.
Though not reveling in her new life, Krista did not want to die. She told Marcus that she stood by his side.
As Krista sunk deeper within the House of Chthon, things got more difficult between her and Blade. Blade and Shen abduct a human woman by the name of Vanessa, who was incubating what Blade thought to be a vampire child. In the process of kidnapping Vanessa, the Daywalker nearly succeeded in killing Chase.
Overcome with rage and concern for Chase, Marcus sent Krista to Berlin, where it was believed that Blade had taken the woman. Krista was sent with a strike team of vampires to eliminate Blade and retrieve the woman. Instead, she eliminated the strike team and reported in to Blade, who told her the woman wasn't carrying a baby at all, but instead was incubating a strange fluid.
After Vanessa gave “birth” to the fluid, Blade gave Krista the majority of the liquid while taking a small sample for himself. Before leaving, Krista had Blade cut off her arm and scar her face with his sword, so that Marcus would believe she had actually fought with him. Krista returned the fluid to Marcus and reported that the rest of her team had been killed by Blade.
Concerned about not having seen her for some time, Krista's uncle, Pat McCallum, approached her while she and Marcus were at a gallery opening. He inquired about what she had gotten herself into. When it appeared that Krista was going to ignore him and his questions, he told her that her mother was dying from Leukemia. To live, she would need a bone marrow transplant, and Krista was the only match.
Since she had become a vampire, Krista had no choice but to refuse. Believing that Marcus was some kind of drug dealer who'd pushed himself onto Krista, Pat became enraged. She and her uncle had a verbal spat, with neither one of them making an attempt to explain or to listen to the other.
Faced with the death of her mother, her last and only link to her human life, Krista made a horrible decision. Breaking into Blade's warehouse, she stole many extra vials of serum. Returning to her mother's bedside, she bit her and then proceeded to smother the woman until she was dead.
Krista's plan no doubt would have worked. However, her odd behavior and conspicuous actions since partnering with Blade had drawn the attention of the Pure Blood known as Charlotte. Charlotte, who had been observing Marcus and the Aurora project, instructed her servant Glynnis to follow Krista and report back anything odd.
After witnessing Krista in Blade's lair, Glynnis did not wait to report to Charlotte. She confronted Krista just as her mother breathed her last. Glynnis warned Krista that she would not leave the room alive.
As if two warring vampires in the same room were not enough, Agent Collins, who'd been conducting his own investigation into Van Sciver and the “disappearance” of Krista Starr, caught up to the “missing” army sergeant. With gun drawn, Collins interrupted the two vampires as the scuffle was about to begin.
Krista knocked Collins aside and out of the line of fire. She and Glynnis battled it out, and in the end, Krista defeated the other woman. Krista was about to turn her attention to the FBI agent, but the sound of glass breaking stole it away again.
During the fight, her mother had turned into a vampire and escaped out of the bedside window. Horrified that she had not been able to inject her mother with the serum, Krista located Blade and begged for him to help.
Confused and taken by the blood lust, her mother began a feeding frenzy, and killed Uncle Pat and several other people before finally arriving at the Chthon hotel. She was taken by a "disposal team", designed to contain and eliminate those who are deemed unfit to join the Chthon House. Blade, Krista, and Shen caught up to her as the team was about to kill her.
They took her to Blade's warehouse and proceeded to try to inject Krista's mother with large amounts of serum, hoping to overcome her thirst, and reverse the affects of feeding. But her mother had fed too much, and her body rejected the serum. As her mother advanced on Shen, Krista was forced to ash her.
Devastated, Krista began a downward spiral.
Blaming Marcus for the deaths of those she loved, Krista fought with Marcus. After quickly defeating the grief-stricken Krista, Marcus forced her to observe his own past through a blood-induced trance, where she learned the pain of Marcus' own turning and the death of his human wife. She softened to his pain and, instead of living with her own moral consciousness, decided to succumb to the blood lust. Krista stopped injecting herself with the serum and began hunting live humans for blood. For several days, she engorged herself on blood and sex with Marcus.
Irritated, and feeling betrayed, Blade captured Krista, intent on forcing her to detox. After a grueling, near torturous 36 hour stay in one of Blade's holding cells, she was able to overcome the thirst, and agreed to go back on the serum.
After going back to Chthon, Marcus believed that Krista deserved and was ready to be involved in the House politics. After their romancing, Krista can't stop the feelings of attraction she had for Marcus, despite the fact that her and Marcus' flings were onset falsely by her vampire instincts.
Thinking that she was asking too many questions about Aurora, Marcus ordered Chase to kill Charlotte. Calling Blade, Krista informed him that Charlotte's plane was blown up, and Blade, with the help of Agent Collins, located the plane's wreckage in hopes of retrieving intact hard-drives which may contain information about Aurora, or the impending Conclave.
Unfortunately, though he did not reveal it to her, Marcus had doubts about Krista's loyalties and, unknown to her, he had the call she made to Blade traced and used it to locate the vampire hunter and his assistant Shen.
As Marcus prepared for the conclave (where he planned to unleash Aurora upon the House's Purebloods), he informed Krista that they were about to capture Blade. Frantic, she tried to call and warn Blade but is too late and Shen was captured.
Shen was brought back to Chthon where Marcus ordered Krista to torture him for information. Under pressure, she pried off three of Shen's fingernails and then punched him in the face when Marcus ordered her to escalate the violence. Unwilling to further harm Shen, Krista leaned over and broke her own fingers when Marcus asked her to escalate the interrogation for a second time. Shen faked pain to cover for her. Krista was able to slip Shen a scalpel to aid in his escape when she and Marcus were called to back to Toronto.
At the conclave, Marcus kept Krista to the side until the main event. When Marcus tried to unleash Aurora upon the Purebloods, it didn't work. In a rush of panic and fury, Marcus realized that he was betrayed by Chase, who then informed him that her alliances were with the House, not him. As the Purebloods close in on Marcus, Chase confronted Krista, and they began to fight.
Blade appeared, bringing with him his own canisters of Aurora, and as the Purebloods lie dying, he and Marcus squared off. Krista was able to gain the upper hand in her battle with Chase, and dropped the platinum blond down a 12 flight staircase.
Krista returned to confront Marcus, only to see that Blade was about to kill him. She shouted for Blade to stop, and the Daywalker hesitated. But before she could interfere further, Shen arrived and shot her in the shoulder with a silver bullet. Marcus grabbed her and they made their escape.
Later, Marcus took Krista to Blade's burned out warehouse, hunting for clues. After having danced around the topic for several minutes, Marcus finally revealed to Krista that they had traced her phone call to Blade.
As Krista looked on in horror, Marcus grabbed her by her throat, and with fangs barred, demanded to know how long she had been working for Blade.
Aurora Project
The Aurora Project was a virus engineering program. Ten years ago, the Pureblood vampires from the House of Chthon contracted with Marcus Van Sciver, the head of their Detroit operations, to produce a vaccine that would eliminate the vampires genetic weakness to garlic, sunlight and silver. The result of the project was the creation of the Aurora Virus.
During the experimentation and testing phases, Aurora was tested on hundreds of vampires from the House of Armaya. Armayans were kidnapped, shrink wrapped in plastic, and forcibly injected with Aurora. They were then subjected to injections of garlic. The test subjects almost all died. Under pressure from the Purebloods, Marcus finally developed a viable vaccine that was tested on the vampire Fritz. Fritz developed an immunity to garlic, silver, and sunlight. Fritz subsequently fought Blade to a draw. Marcus ordered Fritz to Prague to display his newfound immunity to the Purebloods, instead Fritz went to find Blade and finish their battle. Fritz lost, and was beheaded by Krista Starr before Blade could capture him and find out what Aurora was.
In the meantime, Damek (last Pureblood from the House of Armaya) discovered that Marcus was using Armayans for experimentation. He used this knowledge to blackmail the House of Chthon into giving Armaya their seat back on the vampire council and getting a portion of all profits from the venture, plus first access to the vaccine. Growing impatient, Charlotte from the House of Chthon began to put pressure on Marcus to deliver the vaccine. Marcus finally told her it was ready, and a vampire conclave was organized to present the vaccine to the Purebloods.
At the same time, Blade was attempting to get a sample of Aurora. Blade was concerned that if vampires made themselves immune to all of their weaknesses, they would rise up and try to rule the humans. Blade attempted to secure a sample through Krista, but she failed to retrieve a vial from the lab at Chthon. It was then that Marcus revealed to Krista that the vaccine didn't work, and that if Fritz hadn't been killed by her he would've died anyway. The vaccine was a ploy to cover for Marcus' true project, the Aurora Virus. Finally, Blade tracked down a woman named Vanessa ho had been impregnated by Dr. Vonner. Blade kidnapped the woman and took her to a doctor of his own, who revealed she was not pregnant but actually incubating a strange fluid. Blade took a sample of the fluid and had it analyzed, and it was determined that it was a keyhole virus designed to attack Pureblood vampires. Blade quickly learned that Marcus planned to betray the Purebloods at the conclave and kill them all to seize control of the House of Chthon.
Marcus kidnapped a Pureblood vampire named Alex, an old fling of Chase's, and used him as the final test subject for Aurora. He was placed in a chamber with Chase and subjected to the Aurora virus. The virus caused Alex to die horribly, but Chase was spared. Satisfied that the virus worked, Marcus made his next move and attempted to assassinate Charlotte. Marcus' plot failed, partly due to a betrayal by Chase, but Charlotte was killed anyway when Blade found her. Using her death as a catalyst, the conclave was convened. Marcus attempted to deploy the virus but it did not work, it was then that he learned of Chase's duplicity. Blade eventually killed the Purebloods with a canister of the virus that he threw into the air and shot.
Marcus left the conclave still in possession of the Aurora virus.
The House of Chthon
The House of Chthon was the focus of the series and first appeared in the pilot. One of the most powerful vampire houses, the Chthonians are elitists who consider themselves the leaders of the Vampire Nation, though this position is not universally accepted and is especially challenged by the Armayans. The house was founded by Lord Chthon, and his sword became their sacred relic. The House of Chthon has a violent history, and many of their Purebloods were slain in a past war against the House of Erebus.
Chthon is an ancient Greek word meaning "earth" and, by extension, "the underworld". Also, in the history of the Marvel Comics universe (from which the character of Blade originated) Chthon is the name of an Elder God that spawned the original vampires.
In parallel to film's depiction of the Shadowy Council of Erebus, Chthon is headed by a council of six Pureblood vampires, which are called the Conclave.
